Fort Langley Community Association announces a new committee.
The Fort Langley Community Association (FLCA) has formed a committee to engage with community members (Township of Langley residents, Fort Langley businesses and community organizations) to understand their perspectives for the future of the Fort Langley Marina Park and Haldi House. These properties extend east from Glover Road to the boat launch and from the Fraser River to the railway tracks. The purpose of the Waterfront Committee is to be proactive in developing a community vision, which can be used as a resource for future proposals.
“We want to initiate a community conversation on the future of the Haldi House and waterfront properties. Let’s create a proactive vision and not be reactive to future development proposals of these legacies,” said Andy Schildhorn, president of the FLCA
Presently, the Waterfront Committee is seeking representation of all community stakeholders, who wish to be involved in this community consultation.
The Fort Langley Community Association is a non-profit organization with a mandate to represent the opinions of the residents and businesses of Fort Langley to the Township Council and others, and to provide residents with information about issues of importance to the Village. The association is also committed to supporting community endeavours which enhance the community spirit of the Village of Fort Langley.
