I would like to know what trees will remain and what trees will be removed based on this plan?
I hope there is consideration for the paddlers and their parking, gear storage, access, safety needs? Have they been consulted?
When it comes to developing Fort langley, I worry that we are loosing the charm that the movie industry loves and will that industry for Fort dwindle? So for design, I feel considering matching haldi house heritage, and/or incorporating some First Nation culture?
56 stall parkade is a start. I wonder how many spots are currently at the waterfront are…how many will we loose?
Since there is a boat launch. Is there space for truck parking at said boat launch?
Has there been an assessment on how this development will effect the habitat/river?
If this area is for hosting events, what will traffic/parking to and from the event look like? And how will vendors and delivery trucks access this? Are those factors considered in the design?
Will the structures be developed with most energy efficiency in mind?
I’d love for the haldi house to be a neighbourhood house/community centre like Vancouver has.

Space that is there.
I believe a lot of thought has gone into the design, taking into account the constant changes in the water level. This design tries to satisfy the wants of all user groups! The current docks paid for by the Fort Langley Canoe Club stay in place and there is a cable pier put up for the general public to enjoy the river. There is a small boat launch. The Haldi House is moved to save it from high water and put back into its original spot on Glover Road with the original 1908 section being restored!! This photo does not show the more eastern section of Marine Park where more trees will be planted. Great design overall!!
This is a wonderful idea with a few flaws – parking as mentioned previously will be difficult and there is little to no public transportation, the proposed boat launch is shown close to the dragon boat docks which will be a safety hazard, the neighbourhood will be antagonized by parking at residential locations.

Interesting drawings and no way it is to scale! There can’t be that much room between the river and the train tracks! Not realistic at all. I agree with PJ – many existing parking areas seem to be built over and nothing to indicate where that will be accommodated.
It is impossible to accept this build concept in view of my comments which follow: This map will be impossible to implement….the CNR line runs right through that new building as shown in the map. There is not enough space between the CNR track and the river to build any building as large as the one depicted. Is this drawing of that huge building to impress all the residents so we agree to it? If not, why is the building drawn so much larger than the space available?
How many existing parking spots in Fort Langley within the current park area will be removed with this proposed development; and, where does the Township expect to replace for the loss of this parking? Won’t this just end up having more visitors parking in the adjacent residential areas where lack of parking is an existing issue?

Parking was the first thing that popped into my mind too. It’s already a problem.
Hmmmm. Couple questions:
Where are the green spaces, grass, flowers, trees? Why can they not design pathways connected to nature? At ground level?
Why is everything a raised boardwalk, bridge, or dock?
Can paddle boarders and kayakers still launch here?
Is there still a recreational boat launch?
