The North Langley Water Report is Here
Have you wondered why your water pipes are corroding at an accelerated rate? After reading the McBride Water Report last Spring and incidentally coming across our issues, it was decided to investigate further. We received a petition directed to Mayor and Council asking to address this issue. We then completed our survey looking for more examples of premature degradation of hot water tanks and plumbing. With the help of local residents, we were able to complete an assessment of why we are experiencing these issues.
I encourage you to read the report.
FLCA Water Report
I have had significant corrosion issues. It has caused thousands in damage….3 hot water tanks in my shop in 5 yrs. replacement of boiler unit in my Navien tankless htr within 1 yr of install. replacement of my steam unit for my steam room within one year of install. The heavy brass fitting where city water comes onto my property corroded to paper and burst (3yrs from installation). Another brass fitting blew just this summer in same area. I’ve installed an expensive pH adjusting system in my mechanical room where my water enters my home so that everything downstream is protected now.
I bought a professional pH test instrument and have had the city water range from 5.93 to 6.75 over the past two years.
My immediate neighbor has had similar problems and has repiped his home. My neighbor 4 houses up had a major water damage claim and repiped his home in an attempt to prevent a repeat.
Thanks so much for this report and continued follow up with the township! I sure hope this project to install water system to control the PH resolves all our problems!
