Fort Langley Cenotaph Restoration – Community Consultation Underway

At its April 7 meeting, Township Council approved further consultation on the future of the Fort Langley Cenotaph. Staff will now engage with the Langley Heritage Society, Aldergrove Legion, Fort Langley Remembrance Day Society, and the Fort Langley Community Association to guide restoration plans.

The cenotaph, a central part of Remembrance Day ceremonies, is showing signs of structural deterioration. The Township is considering both stabilization and full replacement options, with funding support being sought from Veterans Affairs Canada.

This collaboration ensures the cenotaph remains a place of reflection, respect, and remembrance for generations to come.
